The best display was given by the Waikato junior eight which rowed faultlessly to win its heat, easily defeating Tauranga and Aramoho. North Island crews dornin-] ated the races, the Waikato club top-scoring with eight, heat wins—youths fours, novice eights, junior singles, light-weight fours, -maiden coxed pairs, novice fours (2) and junior eights.
