The Israeli who shot dead one of four Arabs who mach-ine-gunned an El Al Israeli airlines Boeing jet at Zurich airport on Tuesday had admitted to being a security agent, an investigating judge said today. “Earlier he only said he worked for the Government but now he has admitted that he was a security agent,” Judge Joerg Rehbert said. He said the man had not yet said whether he was specifically assigned to the El Al plane. The agent, Mordecai Rachamin, used a Beretta pistol in shooting, which according to some sources is current issue in the Israeli Security Services.
Judge Rehbert said that be was still investigating whether the agent killed 31-year-old Abdel-Mohin Hassan, of Jordan, before or after he was disarmed.
"This is a very delicate matter,” he said. The three surviving Arabs, one of them a girt aide, risk a maximum charge of attempted murder, which carries a possible life sentence.
