NEW SPORTS CAR

A NEW TR6 P.l. sports car capable of 120 miles an hour was unveiled at the recent Brussels Motor Show by the British Leyland Motor Corporation. The' new model • -incorporates all the proven features of the TRS P. 1., clothed in a new body styled by Karmann Ghia.

The revised suspension is independent all round and wider wheels and track improve road-holding. An antiroll bar has been incorpor-

ated in the front suspension, to aid handling. Interior features include a new leather-covered steering wheel, redesigned seats and internal light, an interior ventilation system, ah automatic glovebox light, a vanity mirror and a heater-de-mister as standard equipment. Optional extras include three-speed overdrive, redesigned hard top, wire -heels and tonneau cover for soft top models.

The successful 2.5 litre petrol injected engine produces 150 b.h.pj giving a top speed of over 120 m.p.h. and acceleration from 0-50 m.p.h. in 6.5 seconds. Braking is through a servo-assisted disc-drum system.

The TR6 will be available on no remittance licences in two models, soft and hard top. Estimated selling prices in New Zealand are: Soft top, 83996 (£944 sterling deposit); hard top, $4121 (£974 sterling deposit).
