Two Drivers Suspended

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. After the Raceway Handicap at Palmerston North on Wednesday night L. Caldwell, the driver of Oxford Diamond, had his horseman's licence suspended up to and including February 24. Shortly after the start Oxford Diamond moved in on to Princess Paiaka, which is turn struck Oxford Diamond's wheel, collapsing it and tipping Caldwell on to the track. Guide Me, Caledonian Globe and Gold Oaks were checked as a result of this incident. E. Lockyer, the driver of Highland Flight in the Manawatu Free-for-all, was found guilty of careless driving which resulted in Scotleigh receiving a check. Lockyer’s horseman’s licence was suspended up to and including February 26.
