Return To Australia
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Feb. 20. The two young Scientologists, Mr and Mrs A. Wright, returned to Australia today by air after two unsuccessful attempts at reconciliation with Mrs Wright’s mother in Hamilton, Mrs F. P. O’Donnell.
Erin, aged 20, and her 21-year-old husband returned to New Zealand on February 13 after an 11-month absence and went to Hamilton to see Mrs O’Donnell. The mother turned the couple away at the gates of her home. Mrs O’Donnell later explained that “if my husband, Frank, and 1 were the only ones here, I’d let them in. But there are the other children to consider.”
The couple paid another visit to Hamilton yesterday and spent more than an hour talking to Mrs Wright's parents inside the house. Later Mrs Wright said there had been no reconciliation with her mother.
Mrs Wright said today that she was prepared to return to New Zealand for the Government inquiry into the cult.
