Meter Delay Criticised
A delay in the delivery of flow metering equipment, which had held up the use of the new Avonhead waterpumping station, was criticised in the report of the works committee, presented to the Waimairi County Council last evening.
The report said that the committee had been told of various reasons for the delay, but Cr G. G. Don said he was concerned that the working of the station had been delayed because of the inability of firms to deliver equipment on promised dates. Cr W. T. Rice said that too often firms blamed the' Customs Department for delays when poor documentation by the firms concerned was the principal cause.
