Burial Ground Discovery

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 20.

Two professors have discovered 11 Argentinian mummies believed to be twice as old as the Egyptian Pharaohs, and have asked for police protection for them.

Professor Pablo Saccbero and Mariano Gambier, of the University of San Juan, discovered the mummies when they went to a cave to study paintings and carvings on rocks.

Like Egyptian mummies, they were wrapped in cloth, except for one packed in a guanaco skin, with the wool inwards. At least 40 more mummies are believed to be in the cave, which the researchers describe as a ceremonial burial ground.
