Six Areas In Vani Search
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Feb. 6. The directors of Vam, Ltd, have advised stock exchanges that the company has six principal area of copper search and development in Queensland. They said some “confusion” existed as a result of the transfer of the whole of Vam’s unlisted subsidiary interests in the Mount OxideGunpowder areas to the listed subsidiary, Surveys and Mining, Ltd. The company said these areas were “not by any means Vam’s sole copper interest in Queensland.” It had six principal areas of copper search and development.
Gold Price Soars (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 5. A new gold-buying spree in the world’s bullion markets today sent prices soaring to within a few cents of the highest rates for a year. In London, two price increases during the day added 22Jc an ounce to yesterday’s rate, pushing it up to $42,725. This is only two and a half cents an ounce below the highest two-price tier system price of $42.75.
