Police Find Drugs

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 6. The police have recovered narcotics worth more than $2OOO which were stolen last month from a drug-importing firm in Wellington. Detective Chief Superintendent B. B. Bevege, of the Wellington C. 1.8., said today that the drugs had been recovered in Wellington. The theft from the firm, between January 10 and 13, is believed to be the biggest narcotics haul in New Zealand. The drugs, which include cocaine and morphine hydrocloride, were recovered in good condition. Wellington and Auckland vice squad detectives worked together on the case. Chief Superintendent Bevege said the theft was not the work of an organised gang.
