Swimmers Set More Records

(New Zealand Press Association» NEW PLYMOUTH. The outstanding New Zealand swimming representatives, Miss T. K. Shipston, and A. Kindred, both of Canterbury, added two more national records to the list established during their present tour, at the Kawaroa Pool last evening.

Miss Shipston and ’ Kindred, and three Japanese swimmers, made light of the wet 1 ' weather to provide i’ the highlight of the i Rothmans sponsored > carnival, the sixth of the tour. Miss Shipston’s record came in the 220 yd freestyle when, although she unished second) to Miss Miwako Kobayashi, | she recorded 2min 17.1 sec. beating her previous best time of 2min 19sec. Miss Kobayashi’s time of 2min 16.6 sec established a new visitor’s record, beating Miss K. Wainwright’s 2min 17.6 sec.
