McL. 1 Baxter, who is 75, announced 1 today that he would not 1 accept future nomination for i the position. i The national executive of l the F.O.L. was advised of Mr ' Baxter’s decision today, said : the president (Mr T. E. Skin- i ner.) “This has come as a com- I plete surprise to me and to i the national executive,” he 1 said. “But realising the cir- < cumstances we had no alter-1 native but to accept the i resignation.” 1
