ADDINGTON MARKET All Classes Of Prime Stock In Strong Demand

Values were at very satisfactory levels to vendors when sales of prime stock resumed at the Addington market yesterday.

Prime lambs met a particularly good demand, with frequent sales at more than $6 a head. Prime sheep also sold well. There were sales of earlyshorn ewes at more than $3 a head, and a small entry of young wethers sold briskly at values fully firm on preChristmas rates. Steers made up the bulk of the prime cattle yarding, and values were on a par with early December sales. Cbarolais cross cattle were offered in the store pens for the first time at Addington. They were of considerable curiosity value, and they sold particularly well. Prime Lambs At 852 head, the prime lamb yarding waa rather light for trade requirements.
