Diplomatic Post For Publisher?
(N.Z.P. A.-Rout er—Copyright) NEW YORK, January 7. President-elect Richard Nixon is expected to appoint the millionaire publisher, Mr Walter Anneberg to be the United States Ambassador to London.
Mr Nixon's aides, in keeping with their usual practice, have declined to comment on the matter, except to say that they do not expect an announcement of any ambassadorial nominations until after Mr Nixon is inaugurated on January 20. There has been no comment, either, on speculation that Judge Kenneth Keating, a former Republican Senator,
may be nominated as Ambassador to Israel. Mr Annenberg is the owner and publisher of the “Philadelphia Inquirer” and a number of other publications. Mr David Bruce has been Ambassador to Britain for nearly eight years, since the start of the Kennedy Administration. Now 70, he is considered the dean of American diplomats.
