MrH. C. D. Toye

Mr Herbert Graham Donovan Toye, the head of a London-based firm which for years has supplied ceremonial regalia to governments and municipalities in 90 countries, has died, aged 58. His London company, together with its subsidiaries in New Zealand and South Africa, specialises in making mayoral chains of office, ceremonial caskets for holding freedom scrolls, seals, coats-of-arms, plaques and sports trophies. In addition to the London company, he controlled Mayer and Toye, of Wellington, Toye and Company, of Johannesburg and Badge and Silversmiths, Ltd, of Pretoria. Mr Toye was prominent in public life as a senior member of the Corporation of the City of London.
