Two Riders Suspended

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Alter the running of the Donald Handicap at Tauherenikau on Saturday, an inquiry was held into interference by Kalott (D. Meier) to Wilma Rudolph (R. Jenkins) inside the furlong. After hearing evidence from the stipendiary steward, the assistant stipendiary steward, the riders concerned and viewing a film of the incident, the committee decided to relegate Kalott to fourth and promote Wilma Rudolph to third. Meier was found guilty of allowing his mount to shift ground and suspended until 5 p.m. on January 8. D. J. Stoodley, the rider of Belted Earl in the Waihenga Handicap, was charged with causing interference to Parmestan (D. Harris) and High Talk (R. Jenkins) at the end of the first furlong. Stoodley was found guilty of the charge and suspended until 5 p.m. on January 11.
