This is a position of specialist status and applicants should have been qualified for a minimum period of eight years, have had five years experience in Rheumatology and possess an appropriate higher -qualifica lion. However, applicants who have been qualified for a minimum period of six years including four years practical experience in Rheumatology plus a higher qualification will also be considered. The appointee will be required to establish a unit for the investigation and treatment of Rheumatic disorders, including both inpatients and outpatients from the Board’s area. His work would co-ordinate with the work being carried out at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Rotorua, which is New Zealand’s specialist hospital in Rheumatic and allied diseases, and which also comes under the control of the Board. He will also be expected to carry out such general medical duties as from time to time may be required. The successful applicant will be required to have obtained or obtain registration in New Zealand before taking up duties.
