ICEBREAKER CREW
Visits To Back Country
Some members of the (United States Coast Guard's 'ice-breaker Glacier have been [visiting the South Island back country for camping, climbling, fishing, and some huntling. ‘ The Glacier, which is open to the public daily between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., is expected to sail for McMurdo Sound on Saturday. After she has completed her ice-breaking duties at McMurdo Sound with the Southwind the Burton Island, she will rendezvous with the icebreaker Edisto in the WedIdel 1 Sea for an oceanographic [survey. She carried out a (similar operation last year [in the area with the Argentine icebreaker San Martin.
