Exchange Of Launch

A crew of officers and ratings of the Canterbury Division of the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Re■serve will take the 72ft motor launch H.M.N.Z.S. Parore, to the Auckland naval base next i month. The Parore, which is attached to the division, will be exchanged for H.M.N.Z.S. ' Manga, a similar type of ■launch, in the Navy’s refit by I rotation system. 1 The Manga took part in rescue work during the Wahine disaster in Wellington Harbour. Later in December, the ; Manga will sail from Lyttel- ! ton to Marlborough Sounds to take part in Exercise Vortex 11, the annual exercise of the R.N.Z.N.V.R. Launches ,from the Auckland, Welling'ton and Otago divisions will also take part, and they will be joined by units of the i Royal New Zealand Navy. ( Navigation, fleet maneouvres and communications will be included in the exercise from December 26 to January 10.
