An eager response

The national water polo coach, Mr W. H. Dyson, of Wellington, who has been conducting coaching clinics throughout the country, encountered something of a problem recently when returning home from Gisborne. He decided to hold a small session at Wairoa and made arrangements for about 20 boys. However, 107 turned up in answer to a small advertisement placed in the local newspaper. Several buses were hurriedly hired and the coaching session was transferred to a more suitable pool a few miles away.
