‘Packaging Important’
What looked good in the way of packaging in New Zealand did not necessarily stand up under intense competition in Japan, said the leader of the Trade Mission to Japan (Mr J. R. Maddren) in an address to the monthly meeting of the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Associa-. tion last evening. The Japanese, he said,;, liked to see the product,' especially in the case ,t)f frozen goods. Completely-over-printed polythene Mgs were not the most desirable.. The package needed ti>have a window. Details abqot the product needed to imprinted in English on the front of the package and ’in' Japanese on the back. >.*>
Mr Maddren said that Japanese market could not be disregarded for any New Zealand product.
