Navy Officers On Loan
(N.Z. Press Associatton) WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. Cabinet has approved the loan of one officer and 10 senior ratings from the Royal New Zealand Navy to assist in setting up a naval training school at Singapore. The Minister of Defence (Mr Thomson) said in a statement today that the New Zealand assistance was being given at the request of the Singapore Government. The group, which will be led by Lieutenant Commander A. G. Rhodes, from Newlands, Wellington, will also give training in seamanship, communications, radar, gunnery, electronics, and marine engineering.
