Turner Has First Game
GV.Z.P..4. Staff Correspondent) LONDON. The Auckland soccer professional, B. A. Turner, achieved his proudest moment in sport last night. In the sixty-fifth minute of a match against Portsmouth he took the field for the first division club, Chelsea, as a replacement for the England under-23 star, Osgood. The 19-year-old Turner, who is under a two-year contract with Chelsea, has been playing for the club’s reserves. Last night was his first appearance in the first division team.
Chelsea lost the match, a friendly game with the second division club, Portsmouth, by 1-0.
