HERCULES DELIVERY

U.S. Crew To Leave Today Ten aircrew members of the United States Navy’s VX6 Squadron will leave Christchurch for the United States on Monday to fly to New Zealand from Marretta, Georgia, the squadron’s fifth ski-equipped Hercules. They are expected to arrive in the Hercules about December 1. VX6 maintenance| engineers will give the air- I craft an acceptance check. Before going to Georgia! the 10 men, led by the air-1 craft commander for the 1 ferry flight (Lieutenant-[ Comander E. G. Feeney), will I spend a few days with their I families at their home base I at Quonset Point, Rhode I Island.

At present the VX6 squadron is equipped with four Lockheed CI3OF models of the Hercules. The Royal New Zealand Air Force operates with the H model. The new plane is an LCI3OR.
