MISSING MAIL

Power Bills Complaint

“We have had an acknowledgement of our complaint from the Post Office, but no explanation as to what happened,” said the SecretaryManager (Mr V. G. Mason), answering questions at a Central Canterbury Electric Power Board meeting about missing mail. Mr L. T. Griffith said that board accounts from the July meter readings had not been delivered at Islington, Prebbleton and Hornby. He had received a business ac-count-rendered power bill, but he had never received the original account. Mr Mason said the board had recorded the dates when the accounts were posted. The first suspicion arose when a lot of accounts did not come back. Consumers would not lose their discounts because of the non-delivery of the mail.
