Horse-Drawn Tour
Christchurch may take a (step back into the’past this i summer with a horse-driven carriage tour around Hagley Park. i The Canterbury Antique , Collectors’ Club, which is 1 running the antique fair, hav--1 ing been working on this pro-, I posal for some time have finally been able to track down a phaeton in Timaru. which, when painted and renovated, will suit their pur- 1 poses. Originally it was thought to use a hansom cab.l but club members could not find one. Beginning from the Canterbury Museum, the proposed tour will go round Hag-! ley Avenue and Fendalton! Road before returning to the museum. Horses, stabling and a driver have already been organised. All of the profits will go towards purchasing further items for the club’s exhibits. It is planned to run the! tour on the route for several hours a day from about November to February or March.
