Transport Bd Cttees

Mr J. R. Smith, who was elected chairman of the Christchurch Transport Board on Monday at the first meeting of the board since the local body elections, will be serving his third term in that capacity. His election was unanimous. The new deputy chairman, Mr S. E. Boanas, succeeds Mr E. J. Bradshaw who did not stand in the local body elections. The two special committees elected at the meeting were:— Finance committee: Messrs Boanas (chairman), K. H. Bartlett, W. R. Campbell, G. A. G. Connal, P. D. Dunbar and R. H. Stillwell. Works and traffic committee: Messrs Dunbar (chairman), Boanas, Connal, Stillwell, F. S. Blogg and D. A. H. Mcßeth. Mr Smith is an ex-officio member of both committees
