Walker Nearing Taumarunui

(N.Z. Press Association) TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 13. Mr T. A. Sampson, the 88-year-old Auckland man who is walking from Auckland to Wellington, hopes to arrive in Taumarunui tomorrow at lunchtime, where a special welcome is planned for him. Mr Sampson, who has now walked about 160 miles since he began his 398-mile hike, spent the night at the home of Mr R. Spencer, at Mapiu, 25 miles south of Te.Kuiti.
