Lifeboat Appeal
Sir, —With reference to your report today, may I offer my congratulations to the Jaycees for arranging that Kaikoura will also receive a lifeboat free of debt, I believe the Sumner Lifeboat Institution was going to sell Rescue II (which was originally paid for by public donations) for $4OOO. The majority of small boats used for pleasure and fishing at Kaikoura come from Christchurch, and it is very pleasing to know that our donation will be helping to protect them as well.— Yours, etc., SUMNER RESIDENT. November 12, 1968.
