PLAIN “MR MAYOR”
The new Mayor of Christchurch, Mr A. R. Guthrey, wants to be referred to as just that, and to have the title “your worship” dropped. He said yesterday that the term, traditional in most parts of the British Commonwealth, was rather archaic, and he would prefer to be addressed as “Mr Mayor.”
