Man Willing To Serve

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright i SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 12. Mr Whitney Young, one of America’s best-known black moderate leaders, said today he might accept a Cabinet post in the Nixon Administration if it were offered. The executive director of the Urban League disclosed that he conferred before last week’s election with Mr Nixon, who has indicated that he wants a Negro in his Cabinet.

Mr Young, in San Francisco to deliver a speech on education in black communities, said Mr Nixon made “lots of notes” in their twohour conference before the election, apparently endeavouring to understand the Negro’s disaffection with his country.

The Negro leader expressed special interest in the Department of Health, Education and Welfare
