Social Studies

Sir, —Up till now our secondary schools have provided np form of political education, and perhaps this is why so many of our adult voters, who are responsible for the country’s government, have

little or no knowledge of our political system. I am certain that even an elementary grounding would in such matters be beneficial to all, and would help to stimulate more interest in political activity than is generally found in the average New Zealander. This would inevitably lead to more efficient government, since the leaders of an alert nation must always “toe the line.”— Yours, etc., NON-COMPLACENT SIXTH. November 8, 1968.
