THE Board has established a new school district known at the present time as the Prestons Road School District, the boundaries being as follows: ’’Commencing at a point one chain south and one chain west of the south-west corner of Hills and Prestons Roads; thence westerly parallel with Prestons Road to one chain west of Mills Road; thence northerly parallel with Mills Road and continuing in a direct line to the Styx river; thence generally westerly along the Styx river to the centre of the Main North Road; thence southerly along the centre of the Main North Road to one chain south of Daniels Road; thence easterly parallel with Daniels Road and continuing in a direct line to one chain west of Hills Road; thence generally north-easterly parallel with Hills Road to the commencing point.”

A public meeting of householders will be held on Monday, November 11. at the Northcote School Assembly Hall, Tuckers Road, at 7.30 p.m., and all parents and householders are invited to attend to elect an interim school committee of nine members.

The electors shall be persons who would normally be regarded as householders under the Education Act, and verbal nominations from householders will be accepted at the meeting. In general terms, those qualified as ‘‘householders” are adults residing in the school district as owners or tenants, and parents of children who will be attending the new school. W. P.
