Not quite the usual book about breeds, parts or equipment, of the horse, this is more of a general guide to sensible, enjoyable riding. Starting with a chapter on buying a home, and then one on how to care for it, the author goes on to explain how to be a good hocossnsn, not just a good rider. He gives instruction on behaviour when out hacking, so as not to cause annoyance to farmer* or other people on the roads, and how to control and care for a hot** at shows and gymkhanas.
