Farewell From Bench

Mr D. W. Russell, one of New Zealand’s longest practising barristers, was bidden farewell by Mr Justice Macarthur when he made his final appearance in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mr Russell, who has announced his retirement, appeared on behalf of a prisoner for sentence.

“I have heard,” said his Honour, “that this will probably be your last active appearance'in this court. I wish you well in your retirement.”
