To raise funds for St James’ and St Hilda’s Churches, Riccarton, a group of women parishioners has produced a recipe book, which includes a contribution from Lady Porritt, wife of the Governor-General of New Zealand (Sir Arthur Porritt).
In the “V.1.P.” section there are also recipes from Lady Manning (Braised Steak), Mrs
Treena Kerr, wife of Mr Graham Kerr (Madras Beef Curry), and Lady Hillary (Baked Caramel Custard). Lady Porritt’s recipe is for Melon with Prawns.
A collection of young people's recipes includes many foreign dishes, such as Paella from Spain, Beef Stroganoff from Russia, and several Chinese meals.
