POST OFFICE SERVICES
Arrangements For Show Day
I. Some Christchurch Post Office services have been altered for next Friday, People’s Day at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show. The telegraph, toll and air-mail services will be as usual.
Stamp, delivery and registration counters at the Chief Post Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Parcels maybe posted at the stamp counter.
Morning deliveries of surface mails will be made to post offices with private box facilities. No deliveries will be made by postmen or, rural delivery contractors. Street posting boxes will be cleared in city and suburbs at 9 p.m. The Post Office Savings Bank will be open from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., but the motor registration branch will be closed all day.
