FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—Anticyclones to the north and east of the country are moving away; an active frontal zone is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Marlborough and Canterbury.—North or north-west winds strong in places; overcast with some periods of heavy rain in the Alps; elsewhere light rain at times; mild. Nelson.—Strong northerlies; overcast with rain; moderate temperatures. Buller and Westland.—Fresh northerlies; mild with periods of rain.
