The Communist student leader, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, was arrested and sentenced to three days imprisonment for contempt of court on Thursday for his part in an uproar during a court case. Smoke bombs were hurled and police struggled to clear demonstrators from the court after four young Germans had been sent to prison for trying to set fire to two Frankfurt stores.
