Week-end Accidents

Five tow trucks arrived after a collision between a light van and a small car at the corner of Worcester and Barbadoes Streets late on Sunday afternoon. Both vehicles had to be towed away and the van, which overturned, was wrecked.

Two small children travelling in the van were taken to the Christchurch Hospital and were treated-for head injuries. The van was driven by Matthew Broughton, of 201 Wordsworth Street, and the car by Geoffrey Maxwell Wallace Mercer, of 69 Linwood Avenue. Crashed Into Window.— After two cars collided at the corner of Colombo and St Asaph Streets on Sunday evening one of the vehicles hit a pole and ran into the display window of the shop of Oxleys Prams (Chch), Ltd. The driver of this vehicle, Alan Lyndsay Ward, of 15 Port Hills Road, was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries.
