Passenger Takes Over (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SALEM (Michigan), Nov. 4. Mr Dwight Steele had not been up in a small plane before, let alone flown one, reported United Press International. But he found himself 2000 ft up last night and the pilot slumped dead over the controls. “I thought that was the end of things,” Mr Steele said. He took over the controls, got the feel of the singleengine, four-passenger plane, and landed it in a field near Salem. Police said the pilot, Mr David Wright, aged 38, died of an apparent heart attack. Mr Steele, aged 35, “bumped the plane a little, but he made a real good landing considering,” said a policeman. »
