INCENTIVE PAID

Exports Of Lamb (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 4. Meat companies will be required to send 15 per cent of their total lamb exports to countries outside Britain during the coming season. This was agreed by the Meat Board today. For the first time an incentive will be paid to encourage exporters to reach their target. Last year the diversification target was 12 per cent. Freezing companies which sell more than 15 per cent of their total exports in markets outside the United Kingdom will receive this year a bonus of j cent on each lb by which they exceed their quota. The market development levy remains at 2.5 cents per lb for those who fail to diversify their exports, but for the first time it is changed to provide a graduated scale depending upon the results achieved by the individual exporter.
