FISH RELEASED.—Marine Department scientists and the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society have released 22,000 fin-clipped one-year-old rainbow trout in Lake Coleridge. The release from a transporter is shown in progress. With the co-operation of anglers in a census of fish caught in 1970-71, the department hopes to gain more information on the success of stocking policy, on the determination of growth rates, and about the total population of rainbow trout in the lake.
