New Premier Sworn In
(N.Z.P. A.•Reuter —Cdpynoht) ■ QUEBEC, Oct 3. Jean-Jacques Bertrand was sworn in as Quebec’s twentyfirst Premier yesterday, and pledged to “continue governing with the same determination and in the same spirit” as the former Premier, Daniel Johnson, who died last week. The 52-year-old lawyer formed a new Government without making any immediate changes in the former Cabinet Mr Bertrand was chosen at a special caucus of ruling Union Nationale Party members earlier today. Mr Bertrand said it would be “practically impossible” for him to visit France from October 11 to October 16, the date set for a visit by Mr Johnson. He said he would discuss with Cabinet colleagues the possibility of fixing a new date, and emphasised that he intended to continue pursuing close relations with France.
