Escameno May Win At Waipukurau
"The Preet" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Escameno has a chance at Waipukurau tomorrow to prove that his win over Fans at Hastings was not a Buka. He will carry 8-2 In the Waipukurau Cup, the first leg of the T.A.B. double. The field for the race is nowhere near as strong as the one Escameno beat at his latest appearance. He nosed Fans out of flrst place In the Spring Gold Cup, form which is hard to overlook for the Waipukurau Jockey Club’s spring feature. Since then Fans has gone on to a ridiculously easy win at Otaki. The chestnut completely outclassed the rest of the Held at the Otaki meeting, an effort which could not fall to draw attention to Escameno's earlier performance. Escameno is a four-year-old, and horses of his age usually figure prominently in the results of spring handicaps. Floodlit Is selected to win the second leg, the Hatuma Handicap. The track Is expected to be in flrst class order.
