Pineapple May Be Short In Dec.

A large quantity of Malayan pineapple has been shortshipped In the Waitaki, which Is due In Lyttelton before Christmas.

This may mean a general shortage of pineapple in the Christmas period. Merchants who have had pineapple shortshipped do not expect it now until some time in January. By then the peak selling period will be over.

Chocolate Pudding.—W. F. Tucker and Company, Ltd, manufacturer of the Betty Crocker products, is releasing a new canned pudding on the market. It will be known as chocolate chip roll and is packed in a lOoz can. The suggested retail price will be 29c. the same as all other Betty Crocker lines. Apple Juice and Lime.—The Apple and Pear Board has announced a new drink, apple juice and lime. It is pure, unsweetened apple juice with pure lime juice added and fortified with Vitamin C. The drink is packed in 20oz and 40oz cans. The suggested retail price for the 20oz can is 25c and for the 40oz can the suggested price is 50c.

New Hot Meal.—J. Wattle Canneries is distributing a new hot meal, Beans’n’Franks, in Christchurch. Wood-smoked sliced frankfurters have been

blended with baked beans and tomato sauce,, and the meal is packed in a 16oz can with recipes. The suggested retail price is 29c. Instant Breakfast.—To meet the needs of busy people in the 17-25 age group, Hansells (N.Z.), Ltd, has produced Hansell’s Instant Breakfast. The flavours Include malt, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Each soz packet contains five sachets, one for each working day of the week. The contents of one can be mixed in a glass of milk to make a meal substitute. The suggested retail price is 48c.
