SUMMER SCHOOL
SVo Bounds To Theatre
“No bounds to theatre” will be the theme of the Drama Council’s annual summer school at Rathkeale from January 3 to January 12.
David Tinkham will be the director, and the tutors will be George Webby, Rodney Kennedy, Rona Bailey and John Batstone. The title, the council says, was chosen to create a freethinking, enthusiastic attitude to theatre among the students in the school. There will be two sections—one for actors, which will include both basic and advanced training—and one for producers. Because the production students will be working closely with the acting students (under the direction of the tutors) the council will accept enrolments for the production course only from applicants with proven ability as producers. Less experienced producers are catered for by the council at its winter schools.
