Tourist Manager

Mr T. G. Robinson, the district manager of the Government Tourist Bureau at Dun-

edin, has been appointed district manager in Christchurch. He will succeed Mr W. A. Pickford, who will retire on September 26 after 43 years service. Mr Robinson joined the Public Service as a cadet in the Public Trust Department in 1933. Six years later he transferred to the Social Security Department. Seven months later he was appointed to the Treasury and in 1940 he joined the then Tourist and Publicity Department in Wellington. Mr Robinson was promoted to assistant accountant in 1946, and became divisional officer (hotels) in 1955. Two years later he Was appointed an administration officer, and in 1962 he went to Melbourne as New Zealand Travel Commissioner. He returned to the Dominion dhd was appointed manager of the bureau in Dunedin in January, 1967.
