Goodland Sold
The Sydney trainer, W. Picken, has purchased a majority interest in the American-bred stallion, Goodland, from Mr I. H. Langford, of Oxford. The remaining share is being retained by Mr and Mrs G. E. Galletly, of North Canterbury. Goodland, which has been at J, S. Dalgety’s Lantana Stud, West Melton, will be shipped to Sydney towards the end of February. He will replace the American-bred horse, Diamond Hal, which died earlier in the y ear - . . , Goodland’s first crop of foals, which included the outstanding juvenile trotters, Markalan and Westland King, were bom in 1963. After one further crop he had a year in Australia,, after which he returned to New Zealand where he has been well patronised in the last three seasons. Among his other winners have been Really Good, Kimberly Kid, Annabelle Lee, and Goodray. The last two were winners at Hutt Park on Saturday night.
