Successful Debut tf The Press'' Special Service AUCKLAND. A. A. Yarndley, of Te Awamutu, who trained such fine hurdlers as Bright Fox, Corineus and Foxlyn, made a successful debut as a trotting driver at the matinee meeting at Pukekohe on Saturday. Having his first drive since he was granted a licence for matinees and trials, he drove his own horse, Spare Paris, to victory in the Puni Handicap. From a wide barrier draw, Spare Parts was on the rails behind the pacemaker when the field had settled down. He kept this position to the home turn. Yarndley then worked him clear and Spare Parts finished solidly to win by a head from Captain Frost. An amateur rider in his younger days, Yarndley, now aged 50, bred Spare Parts. He was given the dam. Rosehaven. As well as Spare Parts, he has bred from her the three-year-old, Interrupt, a two-year-old filly by Scottish Command and recently a filly by Black Fury.
