(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) MELBOURNE. Lowland, a four-year-old New Zealand-bred mare from J. B. Cummings’s Adelaide stable, became an even shorter-priced favourite for the Caulfield Cup after her sensational win in the weight-for-age Craiglee Stakes, over one mile, at Flemington on Saturday. Starting at 50/1, Lowland stunned the big crowd when she and the outsider. Rain Lover, cut down her stablemate. Galilee, in the straight and beat him Into third place. Lowland (Agricoia—lmpeccable) scored by half a head, and Rain Lover finished a length and a half in front of Galilee. The Espom Handicap favourite.
